Here is a short excerpt from the book that was published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name. Handwriting with several hands that offered Eleonore the opportunity to collaborate with historical and iconographic research, interviews and writing, mainly for the chapter “Paris Unusual”.
Real showcases of the city, reflections of life, mirrors of the styles the shops participate largely in the spectacular and constant metamorphosis of the Parisian streets, they are the reflection of our time.
They reveal the abundance of ideas and concepts in this particular field where the place is intimately linked to the notion of sale.
Driven by an international movement, from Milan to New York, the architecture of Parisian shops has undergone significant changes. Considered primarily as a minor genre, the treatment of interior spaces has become an important issue and an additional asset for the trade but also a place of expression for architects talent.
This book focuses on selected itineraries, fashion, house, culture to present the shops, their stories and their diversity, images that are made and unmade, living independently of the architecture of the buildings from which they come from.
